Module Dutch legislation

Objective

This module covers the Dutch law and regulations on radiation protection and the relations with international and European legislation. When attended as an addition to a foreign radiation protection course that is recognised by the Dutch government, this module can lead to a qualification equal to the Dutch Health Physics level 4. To check if a foreign course is recognised in the Netherlands or not, we advise you to contact AgentschapNL (former SenterNovem).

Target group

The module on Dutch legislation is specially ment for foreign employees of companies and institutes who work with radioactive source or X-ray equipment in the Netherlands on a regular basis. Participants are assumed to have followed a course on radiation protection equivalent to (at least) Health Physics level 4 (Radiation Protection Officer).

Programme and duration

The module consists of half a day of theory and exercises. Following, a short multiple choice test is made and discussed afterwards.

The following subjects are discussed in the module:

  • Legislation framework and mutual relationships
  • ICRP radiation safety principles; Euratom
  • Regulations and legislation in The Netherlands
  • Classification of workplaces
  • Health physics experts
  • Notifications and licences
  • Transport and disposal of radioactive materials

Subjects can be added on request.

Completion

To use the module as an addition to obtain a Health Physics level 4 qualification, it is necessary to end the course with a multiple choice test. When passed for this test, the participant receives a certificate.

Information and enrollment

This module is offered on request. The language used in the course is English or Dutch; if necessary, a list of translations to another language (e.g. German or French) can be arranged. It is possible to organise the module on location (also outside the Netherlands) or in our training centre in Delft. The costs of the module are dependant of the group size and the location.
